My Journey to Finding the Best Clean Skincare Products in 2018
This is a sponsored conversation written by me on behalf of Shortlist Beauty. The opinions and text are all mine.
You guys know I have been on a mission to find the best skin care products in 2018 that is cleaner and more natural. It is a huge goal of mine to detox our routines but finding anti-aging face creams and serums that actually work is another story. For those of you who expressed interest in finding out the WHYs behind clean beauty, I wanted to create a cheat sheet of key ingredients to avoid when evaluating clean beauty products.
Ever since my father was diagnosed with lupus, our family has always been very conscious about environmental stressors. As a microbiologist living with an autoimmune disease which can flare up due to harsh environments or contact with irritating ingredients, he always preached natural is best. That doesn't mean we don't eat fast food every once in a while, or don't use bug spray on our daughter. It just means we try to be more conscious of the choices we make on every day products. As far as food and organic groceries go, we are pretty much on a routine. The last bit for me to embrace full-on was my beauty and skincare products.
In walks Shortlist Beauty. In a world where women are bombarded with complex skin care treatments, Shortlist believes in the opposite. They believe in providing clean beauty products that simplistic in nature, with fewer ingredients and zero fillers. After all, the skin is our largest organ. Shouldn't we know what's being absorbed through it?
Now on to the fun part. Let's talk ingredients to be aware of when evaluation best natural skin care products. I typically look for skin creams or serums that doesn't contain sulfates, colorants, or mineral oils. At times when my skin has been sensitive, I also avoid fragrances. The entire skin care line at Shortlist Beauty contains zero parabens, phthalates, sulfates, colorants, fragrances or mineral oils.
What about ingredients you want? Let's count. Only 9 ingredients in the Shortlist Cream and 11 in the Shortlist Serum. The key ingredient in the cream is a full faced retinol while the serum has three key ingredients: Niacinamide, Hyaluronic Acid & Glycerin. The powerful duo of Shortlist Serum and Shortlist Cream deliver work together to deliver proven results. To learn more about each active ingredient and it's function, visit the Shortlist Ingredients page.
So, does it work? I have more peace of mind about choosing a clean beauty, anti-aging product line. For the high quality, active ingredients found in Shortlist, the price is a steal. My skin reacts really well to it, even at the most sensitive or break out prone times. Shortlist does an excellent job at maintaining moister giving me a glowing look.
