Preparing for a Glamping Weekend with Comfortiva Corvina

Preparing for a Glamping Weekend with Comfortiva Corvina

April is shaping out to be such a busy month for our family. Between weddings, camping trips and family birthdays, it seems like we are always on the go. One of our goals in 2018 is to be intentional with our time and to disconnect whenever we can. That’s why I planned a fun weekend getaway to Green Acres in the Austin area for some glamping fun. Yes, you heard right. Glamping, as in sleeping in a yurt with zero wifi, zero TV and zero electronics. And yes, we will be taking Kai! A few things we wanted to knock off out list this trip are lots of hiking, animal petting and of course, yummy taco eating. I will have a full trip recap coming in a couple of weeks but I wanted to talk to you guys about how we prepare for a weekend trip while working and maintaining our sanity.

First lesson, learn the hard way – Don’t put it off

Yup this is the hardest part. Get those errands done early! Have a game plan and do an errand or two every day leading up to the trip. I am the worst at taking my own advice but I swear when we get a head start, my life is so much easier! I typically grocery shop 2 days before we leave. The goal is to save the night before for loading the car and last minute packing.

Speaking of errands, I also learned the hard way to be kind to your feet along the way. Since the week leading up to any trip is always so hectic for us, I keep it comfy and simple with my Comfortivas. I’ve been wearing the Corvina Sandal on repeat! Not only are they super stylish and breezy for spring/summer, they are some of the most comfortable shoes I have ever owned. It frankly feels like walking on air! I love that I don’t have to sacrifice comfort for style. My favorite part of the sandals design is the contrast buckle on the straps. The most practical aspect must to be the memory foam foot bed for arch support. I also really love the sturdy yet flexible rubber soles. The Mango/Sand Color is so versatile, it goes with summery dresses or jeans and tshirt. I love them so much I might have to pick up the beige/champaign color too. They were ideal for running errands and standing on my feet all day long this week. I cannot wait to take them glamping too!

Lastly, organizing baskets are your BFF

Packing up the car can be stressful. Since Kevin drives a truck, I am always fearful we will load something in the bed of the truck that I will need to access during the drive. That is why I always pack an empty laundry basket with things I need to grab on the fly. What’s in this basket you ask? Kai’s diaper changing car kit, a small soft cooler with drinks for the road, a couple of trash bags, a roll of paper towel and snacks. I usually pile Kai’s road trip toy box on top of this basket too.

No matter the preparation, one last thing is to just go with the flow. As long as you have your baby and car keys, it will be okay! Oh, and don’t’ forget to grab your Comfortivas too! Follow along on our adventures in my Instagram Story. I always save any trips to the “travel” highlight as well. You can get a closer look of the Comfortiva Corvinas there too!

Safe Travels!
