DIY Diapering Station/ Diaper Caddy for in Home and Car
Thank you Huggies for sponsoring this post. As usual, all thoughts and opinions are my own.
Y’all, I can’t believe we have a little over 2 months before baby B makes his debut! We may not have the nursery ready or researched the latest double strollers, but I have a feeling this second time around, we are just parenting by instinct. One of the things I remember that came in SUPER handy was having diapering stations ready to go downstairs, upstairs and in the car. Today, I am so excited to share my DIY mom hack for diapering stations including my proudest discovery for mess free diaper changes in the car!
My other hack for having 2 babies in diapers? Buying high quality diapers IN BULK! Buying Huggies Plus diapers at Costco is a great way to save money, time and have less blowouts. As an added bonus, through 9/29 you can get $9 off your Huggies Plus diapers at Costco. As a second time mom, I know time is the most valuable thing a new parent can have. We’ve been Costco members for as long as I can remember. Buying Huggies Plus at Costco, you get a great value and less trips to the store. Because a trip to the store with 2 kids can feel like a monumental task, getting those diapers in bulk delivered is a total game changer! Baby B will be in the Huggies Little Snuggler and Kai uses Huggies Little Movers. I love that the infant sizes are soft, absorbent and hypoallergenic. The neatest feature is the pocked back waistband which means less blowouts in the back! For the toddler sizes, contoured shape fits her body and the double grip strips moves with the little runner on the go! Both come in such value quantities, I don’t have to think about diapers for a while after each delivery or Costco run.
Now, here is how I make the DIY Diapering Station/ Diaper Caddy for in Home and Car:
In Home:
I find using a large rectangular basket with handles works the best to contain all the goodies. It looks neat on the changing table and can be moved from room to room. I typically keep a set in my bedroom for midnight diaper changes and a set upstairs in the nursery. I also use smaller containers inside the basket to organize toiletries or loose little things. Each container can be organized by function: medicine, grooming, sanitizing etc.
Here is the list of what I like to have on hand for Diapering Station Kits:
Wipes
Diaper Disposal Bags
Diaper Cream
Hand Sanitizer
Baby Lotion
Coconut oil
Baby brush/ comb
Snot sucker
Thermometer
Gas drops
Nail Clippers
Small toy for distraction
In Car:
Here is how to make an emergency, on the go diaper changing kit for the car
The biggest thing is to create a safe, waterproof space when changing tables or bathrooms are not readily available. My proudest discovery was using puppy potty training pads to line the seat before laying down a baby. Kai had a crazy messy blowout and proceeded to pee during this diaper change when she was a month old and we were on the road. If it was not for the puppy pad, we would’ve had a hefty car detailing bill.
List of things to include in a car diaper changing emergency kit:
Wipes
Puppy Pad
Diaper Disposal Bags
Diaper Cream
Hand Sanitizer
Baby Lotion
Change of clothes for you and baby
Disinfecting wipes
Stain stick
Toy for distraction
I hope this post has been helpful to save you some time and feel more organized at home & on the go! Be sure to stock up on Huggies Plus as Costco so you never run out of diapers in the middle of the night!
