3 Tips for Simple Summer Travel Outfits - What to Bring on Summer Vacay
Summer travel plans are in full swing! We just came back from Ojai California and are headed to the beach this weekend. Finding cool, yet trendy outfits to match our travel plans has always been a huge pain. Before having kids, I used to spend hours at the mall, trying on outfits, coordinating them with accessories. Since having Kai, I seriously cannot recall the last time I set foot in a mall! Stitch fix is saving my life when it comes to shopping for summer vacation outfits. I just simply pin the ideas I want to try on my shared Pinterest board with my stylist and send in requests if there are any specific pieces I want. Not sure what to ask? Here are 3 Simple Summer Travel Outfit Tips:
1. Versatile Dress is a MUST!
Our summer travel plans typically involve tropical or beachy destination. Regardless of your travel location, consider a versatile dress that can be easily dress up or down for daytime or date night. I typically look for stretchy fabric and no zippers or other details that might cause irritation when traveling on a plane. I love this white Cupcake and Cashmere mini dress my Stitch Fix stylist sent. The fabric is light enough for day time and the beautiful embroiled detail makes it special enough for night time.
2. Try a Romper! One and Done!
If you haven't jumped on a romper or jumpsuit trend, you need to try ASAP! When traveling, the last thing I want to think about it coordinating outfits on the fly! That'y why one and done pieces like a romper comes in handy! Especially if you are chasing toddlers or kiddos around, the pant/shorts feature makes bending over a breeze. Again, look for summery fabrics that won't get hot during your trip! Chambray or cotton is my go to! They hold shape well and is cool enough for long strolls.
3. Invest in Breezy Shorts
I am totally over ridged, tight jean shorts of the 2000s! For travel, I prefer Mom cut Jean Shorts or even better, anything from a draw string! When my Stitch Fix Stylist sent the [linen tan shorts], I was head over heels! They are high-waisted with POCKETS! Oh now could I forget about pockets when traveling with a toddler! So ditch the booty shorts for relax fix draw string shorts and it will change your life. My Stitch Fix Stylist paired with an ivory off the shoulder crop top. The puffy sleeves really balanced the outfit nicely. I will be wearing this on repeat!
