3 Toddler Friendly Affordable Holiday Toy Gift Ideas

Kai has always been such a curious little thing. She claims she can speak Chinese, is always on the move and sooo drawn to animals and sounds. When we have family play time, it feels SO good to find interactive toys that can keep her attention and grow her curiosity. When it comes to play time, there are a few things we REALLY look for in a toy! Trust me, we have been around the block a few times with trial and error toy purchases, so this is our checklist:
Encourages independent play but can be incorporated in imaginative play. Kai is 3 turning 4 and we really try to encourage her independence. We always evaluate toys by “can she do this by herself” aka builds confidence, where she won’t get frustrated but feel proud to accomplish something.
Is it educational? Does it help build fine motor skills? We are strong believers in learning through play. As Kai is nearing Kindergarten, working on those muscle memories and recognition really helps!
Will it grow with the child? We’ve all had those “2-second favorite” toys in the playroom! These days, I only want to invest money and storage space into what will last for years in holding Kai’s interest and imagination.
