3 Ways to Update Your Front Yard and Porch in One Afternoon
With our house being under renovations for the past two years and finishing up, I am finally able to work on the front yard and add curb appeal. I am the laziest gardener so I need things that are hearty and easy to survive, and the kids can help water too. Here are my 3 hacks for effortlessly updating your front yard without breaking the bank or killing the plants.
Tall Planters – You don’t have to spend a lot to add height and interest. Tall planters are a great way to do this. Be sure to have the proper drainage at the bottom by drilling a hole if there is not one already. I like to fill it with Vigoro soil and rocks which offers the total lawn and garden care solution with innovative products and an unbeatable value. Vigoro products are perfect for beginner gardeners like myself. The Vigoro hanging baskets are already pre-made with beautiful seasonal flowers. They live a long time in the planters and it’s an absolute hack. The best part is that their products can be found exclusively at your local Home Depot.
2. Use Hooks – Using shepherd hooks is another great way to add some height and interest to your yard. The stake-in ground design makes it damage free to your landscape. Adding seasonal plants or a plant basket to the hooks is a great way to add some pops of color.
3. Plant Stands and Lanterns – Placing plant stands at your entrance can add some color to the façade of your home and breathe some life to an area that usually does not have a ton of greenery. Adding lanterns can add to ambiance and mood. You can make your own DIY planter with Vigoro plant soils and plant food. Anybody can do it. No green thumb required! Just look for the full sun or partial sun or care tag at Home Depot in the garden section and you’ll know exactly where to place them and how much water to give it.
I’m so excited to spruce up our front yard with these minor changes that I know will make a big impact. Will you be making any updates to your yard this season?
