3 Favorite Colors I've Used in the Renovation + Choosing the Perfect White Paint
Y’all!! Our house renovation process is near the finish line and if you have ever been in this extensive project, you know that once you add paint to those walls, things start feeling REAL! One of the most asked questions I get is what paint color should you pick for your next project, so I knew I had to put some extra thought into this. For me, when it comes to picking a neutral or white color, it is really important to pick one that does not have many undertones in it. We also wanted this house to incorporate our love for color so we had to include some fun touches. I went back and forth so much when picking between the two, and ultimately, I couldn’t decide, so what did I do? Pick both!! I am super excited to share my top 3 colors:
Whisper White: When it came to the decision on what type of paint we wanted to go for, it was an easy choice to pick BEHR DYNASTY Interior Paint. It was essentially made for families with kids and pets and is so durable for our day to day activity! We also chose this color for the trim so we had that durability throughout the entire house. We had a really hard time picking a white, because we wanted something bright and airy but not too stark. Whisper White HDC-MD-08 by BEHR® Paint has no yellow undertones, it still looks soft in our home and it is the perfect white for any space.
French Colony: Bodhi’s bathroom was super high on the list, and I wanted to make sure it will be able to transition well from baby to boyhood (eeek!) The cabinet color is French Colony N480-4 by BEHR Paint and is the perfect muted blue shade. I wanted a blue that did not have any purple or violet undertones. I have learned that blue can be super hard to pick without having any of those undertones or being too bright. This is the perfect blue-gray. It is wonderful for cabinets, mud rooms, laundry rooms, accent walls, you name it - I am totally in LOVEE!!
Fresco Cream: When I finally picked a color for the guest bedroom, Kevin's first question out of his mouth was: “You are using THAT color?!?!?” I swear this has been in my thoughts, as well, but I told myself to go bold and out of my comfort zone this year and to use colors as our form of expression of our mood and spirits! This stunning peach, called Fresco Cream 250C-3 from BEHR Paint, and it is one of our most frequently asked questions about our guest bedroom. It is THE bright and happy peach of the season!!! Since knocking out the wall to build this large arch, I wanted color to make it *pop* and it did exactly that without being too overwhelming.
