I just shared this look over the weekend on Instagram stories and the number of DMs were overwhelming. If you aren’t familiar with Beautycounter, their mission is to get safer products into the hands of everyone. I embarked on a detox journey in 2018 and cleaner beauty and skincare products are on my priority list. Why you ask? Because of Kai. Everything I put on my skin, face, hair, mouth gets touched, licked, rubbed by her sensitive skin. Everything that is on me, gets absorbed into her. I want products that are safe, cleaner, better and really question the need for every ingredient without giving up performance and power. Beautycounter does just that!
I created this glam holiday make up look specifically tailored for olive complexioned women with brown eye color. With that said, the palettes I used has a variety of shades and colors that would match fair to dark skin tone. As an Asian American woman, I just find it useful for bloggers like myself to call out specifically what worked for their skin tone.
Eyes:
Necessary Neutrals Eyeshadow Palette
Blend: Slipper (shimmering soft pink)
Burgundy (warm violet)
Haze (warm eggplant purple)
Bittersweet (shimmering warm brown)
The Necessary Neutrals Eyeshadow Palette combines warm and cool shades in various finishes for a truly versatile and long-wearing look. I chose warmer pinks, purple and brown tones to accentuate brown eyes. Burgundy (warm violet) wears beautifully for yellow undertone skin tones like mine. See these colors swatched on 3 skin colors on the Beautycounter page.
Highlight:
First Light Highlighter Palette
Blend: Golden & Halo
My newest obsession in 2018 is highlighter. The First Light Highlighter Palette is truly beautiful with 3 pearlescent tones. I placed halo at the arches of my brow, middle of my nose bridge and the upper center edge of my lips to accentuate those features. I used Golden on my cheekbones to give an overall glow.
Lip:
Mini Color Intense Lipstick Vault
Blend: Daydream (neutral pink)
Twilight (bright berry)
This Mini Color Intense Lipstick Vault is the longest wearing I have tried! I did a 4 hour make up check-in and even after eating, drinking, the colors stay put! The collection is very pigmented and rich. It moisturized my lips while staying vibrant. I highly recommend this line! Plus, I love lip minis because I can change up the color depending on the mood! I layered Daydream and Twilight to create a bright and rich berry pink lip. This would also make an amazing gift for your mom, sister, or best friend. You could even get the entire vault and separate the lipsticks and place them in different holiday goodie bags for the ladies in your life – so cute!
I hope you enjoyed this cleaner make up holiday look tutorial as much as I enjoyed making it. I can’t wait to expand my safer beauty collection in 2019.
